I am interested in the history of people and redefining the landscape in which they exist. We are not only affected by the physical landscape of a place but the history behind the place. My work is focused on my own family and where they live in Scotland, but there is also a connection with where I grew up as a first-generation American in New Jersey. I want to play with the use of landscape- using an image of it to give context, using it as a stage for an image, or combining it with other images that activate each other. I capture people’s stories using many different media, while giving insight into their past and also the collective memory and history surrounding the landscape.
